Veena Players: Shweta and Akhshra

Shweta, currently a civil engineering student at the University of Alberta has been learning veena from her guru Sri T.R Sambashivan for 6 years. She has been a student of vocal Carnatic music for the past 10 years and has also been learning Bharatanatyam for 10 years.

Akhshra Sri Purushothaman, a grade 12 student was first introduced to the Veena by Sri. S. Jayaraman in 2016. She continued her training under Sri. Deepak Paramashivan. She has been a disciple of her current Guru, Sri. T.R. Sambasivan and has performed on the Veena in various events and aradhanas in Edmonton for the past 4 years. She is also a Carnatic vocal student of Sri. Ashwin Iyer, and has been learning piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Mohiniattam Dance:  Roshni Sajiv Kumar 

Roshni Sajiv Kumar, currently a Chemical Engineering doctoral student at University of Alberta, has been training in Mohiniattam since the age of five under the guidance of Sri. Sasi Kottakkal. Along with Mohiniattam, she has also received training in other classical dance forms such as Kerala Nadanam, Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam. Roshni is also a trained Carnatic and Hindustani vocalist.
