Jayshree Bala Rajamani

Jayshree has been a practitioner of this Great Indian Dance form for over 45 years and has been teaching for 36 years.  She has received numerous awards for both performing and teaching, the most recent being a special Citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives for her 25 years of teaching this art form.   In 2013 she was a finalist for Woman of The Year Award for Excellence in Dance.  In 2021 LexSeeHer honored her with a Banner for her community service through dance.

Pt. Arup Chattopadhyay

As a top-notch accompanist and a formidable soloist, Pt. Arup Chattopadhyay is one of today’s most outstanding tabla artists. Arup’s performances are admired for their exceptional tonal quality, clarity and deep compositional repertoire, all presented with an innate sense of rhythm and melody. Arup has accompanied many of leading musicians of India including Rais Khan, Aashish Khan, Shahid Parvez, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Nayan Ghosh, Ajay Chakrabarty, Lakshmi Shankar, Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Rashid Khan, and V.G. Jog. Arup has performed with the legendary Ravi Shankar in tours throughout North America, Europe, and India, including performances in Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and Lincoln Center in US; and Barbican Hall in London. He was awarded the prestigious Top-Grade by All India Radio and Television. Arup has been a visiting lecturer at University of California, San Diego, and professor of Tabla at Baratiya Vidya Bhavan in London. Arup is a premier disciple of renowned tabla maestro Pt. Shankar Ghosh.

Anjan Saha

Selected for the artist rosters of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, SpicMacay and Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Anjan Saha’s music reflects the highest standard of Indian classical music today. He is a graded artist of Prasar Bharati. Anjan has performed extensively in India, US, Europe, and Qatar, and has presented numerous workshops as well. He is also a composer, and mesmerizes audiences with his unique works. Presently, Mr. Saha is music faculty at Rabindra Bharati University. He has been studying with Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, the doyen of Senia Maihar Gharana, since 2020. He also studied extensively with Pandit Debiprosad Chatterjee and Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar. Anjan received the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India in 1992 & 1998.

Phil Scarff

Phil Scarff ( www.philscarff.com ) is a pioneer of the performance of North Indian classical music on soprano saxophone, and exquisitely captures the music’s subtlety and depth. His performance at the famed Tansen Samaroh, Gwalior, India, with Saskia Rao de Haas was “The highlight of the festival.” [Dainik Bhaskar]. Indian classical appearances include India’s prestigious Dover Lane Music Conference and Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture (Kolkata); Nehru Center, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, and Dadar-Matunga Cultural Centre (Mumbai); Saptak School of Music (Ahmedabad); ICCR Theater and India Habitat Centre (Delhi); JKK (Jaipur); and Pt Chatur Lal Festival (virtual); as well as in USA, LearnQuest Festival (Boston), Raaga Inc. (virtual), Dhvani (Columbus, OH), Sangeet Mahotsav (New York City), Rocky Mountain Thyagaraja Utsavam (virtual), and Kalakendra and Portland Balaji Temple (OR). Phil has performed with icons of Indian classical music including Ronu Majumdar, Shashank, Kadri Gopalnath, Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, Trichy Sankaran, and Chitravina Ravikiran. He is featured in the music video, “Vaishnav Jan To” (music director Dhruvit Shah), awarded “Best Music” in the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival and “Best Music – Jury” in the Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival.
